Volunteers
Volunteers are the backbone of the London Strawberry Festival. There are many areas in which volunteers are needed, both long and short term.
Short term volunteers are those who volunteer to complete specific tasks during the festival. These tasks are great for anyone, including youth, who want or need to do community service. Tasks include working in the Strawberry Shortcake Tent, the Information/Souvenir Booth, registration during contests, & various events, parade line up, parade announcer helpers, volunteers for the youth area, and a notary for the royalty meeting the week following the festival.
Long term volunteers are those who are willing to get involved with the planning process of the festival and become members of the London Strawberry Festival Committee. These volunteers will need to attend the board meetings throughout the year. These individuals may work with a specific area of the festival or various areas under the supervision of the Board of Directors. Long term volunteer opportunities include strawberry shortcake tent, volunteer coordinator, and youth area committee among others.
London Strawberry Festival Board members are willing to sign community service forms for those serving during the festival. Local business are encouraged to volunteer the use of their windows for displays during the festival and to assist in any way they can.
The City of London requires all festival volunteers age 18 & over to submit to a background check. The London Strawberry Festival will handle this for volunteers in the Shortcake, Information and Beer tents, as well as for specific tasks listed below.
Those interested in becoming a volunteer should contact 740-857-1417 or 740-852-1582.
