2020 was a year like no other. The Covid-19 Pandemic hit early in the year. In March, Ohio experienced a statewide shutdown. Schools closed and students began learning remotely. Stores, restaurants, fairs and festivals were ordered to close. People were ordered to stay at home. As time progressed a few things began to open on a very limited basis. Everyone was expected to wear masks, use hand sanitizer and maintain social distancing.
The London Strawberry Festival board proceeded with plans and had everything ready to go and waited as late as possible but came to the disappointing decision to cancel the festival. Other festivals and fairs, including the Ohio State Fair all canceled.
